In this tutorial you are going to learn how to create an image template for branding purposes.
This tutorial is also available on video. Click here to watch: Image Editor Tutorial
1. Open the Image Editor
In the left sidebar click on 'Compose' to open the text editor. Below the editor you will see the 'Add Image' button. Click on it. This will open the Image Gallery. Here you will see all of the images that you have added and edited yourself. To open the Image Editor click on the 'New' button in the upper right of the popup. .Alternatively you can search the databases for images using a keyword, which will launch the Image Editor as well.

2. Inside the Image Editor
Once you are inside the editor you have a number of options. For this example we will create an empty template that you can use over and over again. Start by clicking on 'Open'.

3. Create the Image
Click on 'Create New'.

4. Adjust the Image Size
Here you will be asked to select the width and height of your template image. You should check the ideal image size for your blog posts on your WordPress template. As each template varies so do the images sizes. However, usually a width of either 640px or 800px works. The height can range from 480px to 600px. In this example we'll choose 640 x 480.

5. The Canvas
So far we have created an empty canvas that we will save as the template. This is where we will add the new images and layers.

6. Add a Shape
Select the 'Shape' tab and choose the shape that best fits your design. We will use the 'Rectangle' for this example.

7. Add Text
Next we are going to add our branded text to the template. From the left sidebar select the 'Text' tab. Now choose a font and add your text.

8. The Template
Now our template is ready to be saved. You could also add another shape and more text that you will use to change with each of your blog titles.

9. Saving the Template
Select the 'Templates' tab, click on 'Save Template'. Give a unique new name to your new template and click 'OK' to save it.

10. Branding Images
Next time when you open an image in the editor that you want to use with a template you need to click on the 'Templates' tab and select the template. This will add the image directly into the template.

11. Final Touches
Once the image is loaded in your template you can add more text, filters, and so on to customize the image. You can give it a unique feel while still maintaining the similarity of the site or business name for branding purposes. Finally, save your image and add it to your blog post. It can either be added directly in the post or as a featured image. However, branded images are usually added as the featured image.
